So I learned today that apparently girls are fascinated with make up from an early age. The kids are both sick and since JP has been since Sunday we have been stuck in the house. Needless to say I had to find a way to keep us entertained, so I pulled out my makeup. I was goofing off and putting make up on, which I still to this day do not know how to really wear it nor do I wear it most of the time, and Kailee asked if she could wear some. So, I put some on her and she thought she was hot stuffl and she even put some on Justin so he didn't feel left out. Basically he liked putting all the make up brushes in the water while she put powder all on his face. No biggie it made hed happy and kept him occupied. It was nap time so I washed all our faces and they went down for a nap. Tonight I was doing my normal night time cleaning and realized Kailee had been in my room a really long time alone. No biggie on a normal night because she likes to go in there and watch cartoons on my bed. Well, it finally hit me that I had the tv on TLC from earlier when they were napping and wondered what in the world could she be doing. I thought she fell asleep since I had to give her medicine for her allergies, and decided to finsh mopping. All my cleaning was done minus a load in the washer which I quickly put in the dryer and off to bed I went. Or so I thought. I walked in the room and she's laying on the floor with her head down. A sure sign she's hiding something. I called her name and she said "Yes momma." But still did not lift her head. Finally after promising her I would not be mad I saw her face and cracked up. Well she just could not understand why I was laughing and kept asking me what was so funny. I made her look at herself in the mirror and her response " I see momma how do you think I put my pretty make up on?" I haven't laughed so hard in a really long time. :)
P.S. The first pic is how I found her tonight and the other is after I put make up on her.

Lesson learned

I thought it got Easier...
I thought for sure once Kailee got older Christmas shopping and gift giving would get easier. I was soooo wrong. This girl has to be the most difficult person to shop for. I ask her daily what she wants for Christmas. Want an idea of what this girl comes up with? Here goes. "Mommy I would like a bathroom in my bedroom so I don't have to walk across the hall to go potty". " I would like a napkin basket so I can put my dinner napkin in a basket next to my plate and not in my lap". I would also like a hammer, a door, a sink, and that black thing hanging on the livingroom wall"(which is a speaker). Um lets see. What else. Last night she also informed me she wanted a Clipo table for her toddler brother Justin, so she could also play with it even though it's for toddlers and not big girls. I honestly expected Barbies to come out of her mouth or dolls since she's almost four. But, no I get the most random off the wall stuff. Needless to say after 45 minutes of asking her over and over to pick some kid like stuff she wanted I finally managed to get four gift ideas out of her mouth. And, even then it's stuff I'm just like ok Kailee. She wants in her exact words a creepy Yo Gabba Gabba shakey ball, a magazine, but not just any magazine mommy I want one all about insects, a Shrek movie but not the one I've already seen, and a coloring book. Nice. It's going to fun trying to get other ideas from her. I swear the stuff she comes up with just blows my mind. LOL She is so funny.

Here we go...
It's not even officially winter yet, and already JP is sick. He has a low grade fever, diarrhea, a horrible cough, runny nose, and just plain miserable. Did I mention he's not sleeping either? Oh the joys. :( I feel so bad for him. He's normally not ever sick. I mean one ear infection and of course his allergies and the symptoms that go with it, but never sick. I just hope he gets to feeling better before his 18 month well exam. Oh, and I really hope Kailee doesn't get sick, b/c when she gets sick man does she get sick. So fingers crossed she doesn't get whatever little man has. And, fingers crossed this passes quickly.
Well I definitely spoke too soon. Kailee woke up from her nap with a high fever, and now has a cough, sneezing, and diarrhea. Not only that but now Paul feels sick too Guess I'm next...

Signing Off

Ok obviously I was behind in posting since I've posted so much today. This is officially the last time. I just took these pictures of the kids and thought they were way too cute not to post. I love night time because the kids are such goofs. Here's Kailee so proud of herself for dragging her bunny suit(winter pj's) out of her drawer and JP looking gansta in his sister's pink hat. Ok well I'm off to clean.

For Sale

No not my kids, although after reading my last blog I can see how you would assume that's what I'm talking about. It's come time for us to get a bigger family vehicle. Why you ask? Well, b/c JP decided to have the longest legs I've ever seen on a 17 month old and well Paul's not exactly the shortest guy either. We had to move Kailee behind me a while back because she just couldn't fit behind Paul when he drove any longer, and now JP is to tall to sit in the middle. Putting him behind Paul isn't an option either, so we're putting the Montero up for sell. It's a bittersweet decision for me as I love my car. I mean sitting on 20's w/ a system for a mommy mobil isn't too shabby. But, I can see how we are really starting to outgrow the Montero. So we'll see if we get any bites and of course go from there. This is just my way of passing time and bordum while the kids sleep.

Blessed

There are some days as a mom to two toddlers where I feel like I am not getting anything done and when I question what did I get myself into. I feel outnumbered and deliberately tested. Both are at the age where independence is playing a big role in their attitudes. It can be quite draining to be honest. The bickering over a certain toy, the crying over spilled milk(literally), the I don't want to or why? The changes in sleep, the lack of sleep, the boredom thanks to the cooling weather, and the joys of having a boy and girl and their differences. I love my kids to death and they mean the world to me, but some times I wonder if I'm cut out for this or if I'm even a good mom. I'm only on month 11 as a stay at mom. Then there are days like today when they look up at me with their big smiles, where they only want to play with each other, the I love yous, kisses and hugs and I know this is what I was meant to be. A mom. A mom who puts her life on hold to raise two beautiful kids, a mom who lives every day just to see those big smiles, hear those I love yous and enjoys watching them grow and play together. I sometimes have to stop and tell myself to enjoy the bad days, because one day they will both be grown up and I'll miss all the bickering, crying, and bad attitude days. I know I'm blessed to have these two kids and I know how truly lucky I have it compared to some moms and their kids. The stuff I deal with is little compared to others. It's days like today where I look up and thank God for all my blessings in life.

Melt my Heart why Don't You

Oh Kailee what a face. You were upset about not getting a lollipop and here's the face you decided to throw at me. Talk about a pitiful face. You're getting really good at making these types of faces when you don't get your way, and boy do they just melt me. I love how even your sad face can make me feel like a horrible mom.

Kailee the fire fighter

So today I took the kids to the station to see Paul. I've been trying to take them more often b/c the kids are really missing him through out the day. The other day Kailee fell asleep on the way so JP went and had dinner with Paul, but tonight they were both awake and got to enjoy the station together. JP was attached to Paul so Kailee really got to see the trucks and try on the gear. She did not want to leave. They both had so much fun and it was nice for them to get to see Paul as well. It made their night and Kailee couldn't stop talking about what a great fire fighter she made. Guess she's decided to follow in her father's footsteps and no longer wants to be a doctor. :)

Update on my Grandpa

Today he was finally released from the hospital. After many complications including a bleeding vein is his leg, fluid in his lungs, an infection, and two trips back to the ER, as well as another stay in ICU he is at home and doing well. For everyone who offered support and prayers thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The Button says it all

While I normally do not discuss politics nor do I ever share my opinions on politics, since this election is over, and our next president has been selected I feel the need to put my thoughts down. I cannot believe how many people rallied behind one man, a man who in my opinion was not the right choice. That's pretty much my opinion and I'm not asking anyone to agree or disagree with me. I realize this is a huge historical milestone for America with electing Barack Obama, the first African-American to ever be elected, but I can't seem to grasp how a non Christian won over the USA. A man, who at times couldn't even respect the USA enough to place his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance. My hope is that he will not ruin our country any further, and all his talk for change will be positive change and not negative. I wish I had a more positive feeling about the new president, but I don't. I have the most uneasy feeling in my gut. All I can say is God bless all of us and this country.

The Joys of Halloween

Oh the joys of picking out Halloween costumes. Kailee I've pretty much had her costume in mind for months now. The only problem... I don't know how to make costumes myself and don't really want to spend $60.00 on one either . That's when knowing a best friend who literally knows everyone or has connections with a ton of people comes handy. So I decided I wanted Kailee to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and not a black cat like she wanted to be. Once I told her Charlie could sit in her basket she was so on board. So I showed my best friend the costume selling for $60.00 and she said "We can so make that." I knew then the costume was a go. So i went to Texas and literally in one day her costume was made and we were both so excited. I had the idea for JP to a fireman for ever. So I started looking. The options were cheesy, super cheesy or expensive. Nice options. I decided then he would have to wait to be a fireman. After all he's a boy and has his whole life to use that as a costume. So I kept putting it off and kept not looking. Just no motivation and I really wanted him to be a fireman darn it. Oh well I was in Texas having a blast and not really thinking of Halloween and besides how hard can it be? So back to Az and things were super hectic trying to get the kids back to normal and the house back in order, and once again I forgot all about JP's costume. Monday before Halloween comes. Then Tuesday, and then Wednesday. I wake up on Thursday and realize after looking in JP's closet he has nothing to wear. Oh why did I wait till the last minute. What would my options be at this point? So I go into Old Navy and there's some semi normal boy costumes. Jackpot I think. Maybe just maybe procrastinating wasn't such a bad idea. Then I start looking for his size. Great. Super small or super big. Uh oh guess it did bite me in the booty. Well long story short I found him a costume. It's a 4T 5T but still I bet I can make it work. Actually at this point it's going to have to work. LOL As you can see by the pictures they both ended up looking super cute for Halloween and all my worrying was for nothing. The kids had a fantastic night and heck Paul and I did as well. We trick or treated like kids and just enjoyed the night with the kids.

Holly Pumpkins

Arizona has an awesome real pumpkin patch. Who knew? I never expected one since we never had one in Texas and when I heard they did I was all over it. Paul finally had a day off that fell during the time the pumpkin patch was open, so we decided what the heck lets load the kids up and take them. Mind you it's about 98 degrees outside. This should be fun!
Fun it was minus the heat and all the bees. It was like a mini festival. It has food, games, a corn field, petting zoo, and the famous pumpkin patch. We walked around and let Kailee go see all the animals, and see the cornfield and then we headed on the horse pulled trailer into the pumpkin patch. Everywhere you looked there was pumpkins. To your left, right, in front on you, and behind you. Kailee's face lit up and you could see the excitement written all over it. :)
She was honestly overwhelmed I think. It took her at least 45 minutes to take it all in. Then Paul finally told her to pick a pumpkin. She went crazy. She picked, huge ones, big ones, medium, and even the smaller ones. Jp woke up around this time and even started trying to get a pumpkin. He was the easy one. Paul showed him a small one and he grabbed on to it so tightly. We knew this was his choice. By this time the heat and not eating lunch was really starting to get to Paul and I, so we encouraged Kailee to put a rush on it. She decided on a smller one and off we went on our horse pulled trailer. Once we got back Kailee saw the little bitty pumpkins and just had to have one, well ok more like 3. We paid and said good bye to the pumpkin patch.

Today is my Grandpa's surgery
So this morning my grandpa went in for his double bypass sx. I haven't spoke to my grandpa in about 5 years b/c of things that happened when I was there in Fl going to collage, but I wish him well today and hope everything goes Ok with the surgery. My mom and dad and some of the family are there with him and my parents will stay about 4 to 6 weeks to make sure he recovers well. Now I'm sitting here waiting the four hour wait to hear how the surgery went and how he's doing.

I'm so proud!

Paul came home with a Commendation Medal! I am so proud of him. He worked so hard as a crew chief and it seemed he never got any recognition for all of his hard work and effort. Well this Commendation Medal is for Meritorious Service for the dates of 14Dec 2004 to 3Jan 2008. Talk about recognition. Paul really excels in the Air Force and I really do think this is his calling. He puts everything into his job and strives to be the best he can at whatever he is doing. He put in a ton of long hours and dedication as a crew chief and it's nice to see they acknowledge his hard work. These medals are not easy to come by and if I recall correctly he has another one on the way from his time in Honor Guard. I could not be any prouder of him if I tried.

Gotta love them

So Kailee's new thing is dress up. All she wants to do is dress up in my clothes and shoes. I actually think she can walk better in heals than I can. She has so much fun and really thinks she's hot stuff. It's a fun stage to watch her in since she's never been into dressing up on her own before. Justin did the cutest thing tonight. He fell asleep on the floor in the computer room. Never have any of the kids just fallen asleep like this before. Maybe a couple of times in their high chairs but never on the flood. He was out too. He didn't even wake up when I picked him up off the floor. He looked so peacful and cute. Gotta love kids. :)

Sneak Peak

Remember when I said I had the kid's pictures taken at Olan Mills.? Well they came in today and mom picked them up and scanned them for me. It'll be a while before I can send them out since they are leaving in the morning to FL for my grandpa's heart surgery. So... since it's going to be a while here are the poses I ordered and I will be sending out, minus the ones with my brother.

GRRRR...

Tonight I decided to take a drive by our house here in Texas, ya know just to see what the outside of the house looked like. Well, I am so disappointed. The outside looks terrible. I mean we have St Augustine grass in the front and have always had the greenest best looking Yard in the neighborhood. Not so much anymore. Actually it was one of two of the worse on the whole block. I don't know what our renters are thinking or what the heck they have been up to the last 9 months but the grass wasn't even cut, there are weeds all in the yard, it's overgrown where the pretty rock design is, and as if that wasn't enough there's a HUGE dead patch next to the drive way. I mean how in the heck do you kill grass? Not only has it been raining like crazy, but we have a sprinkler system in the front yard. I mean hello turn it on every once in a while. I'm super upset. I even peaked in the backyard which has always been beautiful and green. All along the fence there are nothing but weeds and over grown grass. It's also light green and almost dead. I know they have a weed eater and a lawn mower. After seeing the outside I'm really curious to what the inside looks like. Before we left she painted the whole house with the exception of Kailee's room so I thought they took pride in the home and she's always said nothing but positive things about the house. I just can't believe they would keep their yard in the condition it is, especially since it's not there's. Good thing we aren't trying to sell the house or anything cause I doubt a realtor would even stick a sign in the yard. :(
I'm going to have a meeting with the renters and even take a walk through of the home on Monday so I'm super nervous. We've been having other issues with them as well and I just want to hear what their explanation is for everything. We'll see and I'll post pics of the Yard as well as an update when I upload my camera and take the walk through on Monday. Thanks for listening to my rant.

Achoo!
So Kailee has allergies and man are they acting up on her. She started yesterday with a runny nose, and some sneezing and by the evening she had a fever of 105. All night long I was up every four hours alternating between Motrin and Tylenol. So this morning she wakes up with fever and I've been giving her Zyrtec, Tylenol and Motrin and man does that stuff just wipe her out. I sure hope she gets some relief soon. She walks around like a zombie with all the meds. :(

30 days til Halloween
I was on a friend's blog and she reminded me that we only have 30 more days til Halloween. Anyone who knows me knows this is my favorite holiday! I love to see the kids all dressed up and take them to a festval. I can't wait to see what Tucson has to offer. I guess it makes up for not being able to be here for Halloween.

Big Time Bummer :(
Man I was so looking forward to coming back to Texas w/ the kids again this month, but I just got word that my grandpa is having double bypass sx on the 22nd which means my parents have to take off to Fl again for another 2 to 3 months. So looks like I wont be seeing my family, friends, or Texas for quite some while. I'm more worried about my grandpa and his sx than coming back but it still bummed me out. :(

Justin
Little man. Oh where to start? Justin is all boy. 100% no doubt. He keeps us on our toes for sure. He's a very bright little boy. Very inquisitive and always trying to figure out how things work. His vocabulary is right on track and some of the words he is saying are hi, bye, see, sista for Kailee, dadda, mama, light, thank you, cheese, please, and his favorite phrase is did you see that?. He signs, eat, drink, all done and thank you. He loves dancing. Every morning him and Kailee dance in the computer room. He's quite good at it. He loves to be outside. He loves rocks and playing in the dirt and getting dirty. He also loves playing in water. He's a little dardevil as well. He climbs on everything and has no fear of falling. He's also a litle entertainer. He loves being goofy and making us laugh. He has the best laugh. Justin's also a very loving little boy. He hugs and gives kisses and still lets me hold him all the time.

Kailee

Kailee is doing so much these days there's no way I could fit it all on her web page. She is spelling everything in sight and even starting to read more. She will see a stop sign and spell it S-T-O-P and then say that spells stop. She spells all the buildings we pass on the way to the grocery store or around town like Blockbuster, Safeway, Target, Wal Mart even Old Navy and stores in the mall. When reading she is picking out small words like the, at, and, go, and piecing them together to make small sentences. Her vocabulary and sentence structure is truly amazing for her age. She uses words like delectable, compatible, collaborate and all in the correct form. She loves doing work books and learning. She’s still into Spanish and we learn a new word daily. Thanks to Dora and her Aunt Blue she has quite a Spanish vocab. She can count all the way to ten, say hi, bye, stop, open, close, up, down, quiet, good night, good morning, and she knows all of her primary colors as well as more. It would take forever to list all she knows, but I’m very proud of her. She's also very creative with art projects and has an imagination like no other. We have tons of pretend birthday parties, tea parties, store shopping events, musicals, school days. Her imagination keeps me on my toes for sure. She dances and sings whenever she can. I swear she's a little entertainer. She very much tries to make everyone around her happy. Anyone who meets her is always so impressed and says she is a sweet spirit and super bright.
