Happy Heart Day!

So the kids and I woke up to very unexpected gifts this morning. Kailee got a giant diamond ring and a peanut butter chocolate cup shaped like a heart. JP got a Cobra hot wheel and a peanut butter chocolate cup shaped like a heart. I on the other hand got a tripod and a new camera lens for my Canon. I am super excited to go try my new lens out! I swear Paul's the best! I mean he could have got jewelry, chocolates, purses, all that junk, but it wouldn't have been me. It would have been nice and appreciated don't get me wrong, but just not me. He did perfect with the gifts he got me. He really knows me LOL After all of us ogling over our gift I got everything ready for pancakes. I decided to make the family heart shapes blueberry pancakes. The kids got such a kick out of them. :) Of course they were super easy and fun to make for me. Now we are all lounging around the house. It'll be another busy day today. The kids have a birthday party and then are going to a friend's house while Paul and I go to dinner. Well we dropped the kids off about 4:30 and then off we went for our night out. I had no idea where we were going or what we going to be doing. Lets just say Paul did amazing! He set up reservations for this awesome restaurant called Pastiche. We waked in and they bypassed the whole first floor of the place. We headed through a room full of nothing but wines and chocolates up not one flight of stairs but two. We ended up in this very romantic quiet sitting area where there were only four tables. There was a huge window overlooking the entire restaurant and mountains. The lighting was low it wasn't crowded or loud, little heats were stringed from the ceiling. Perfect! I haven't even got to the food yet. Needless to say the food was just as amazing as the service/place. I ventured out of my norm and ordered salmon, rice pilaf, and asparagus. All of which tasted amazing. The salmon had a brown sugar glaze which took away the fish taste. I honestly thought it tasted a lot like chicken. Either way it was delicious. Paul ordered a steak, polenta, and asparagus. He said his steak was wonderful. He wasn't crazy about the polenta, but I thought it was pretty good. And of course he loved the asparagus. Then it was time for dessert. Blackberry covered and drizzled cheesecake. Oh my goodness. It was soooo good. After a delicious meal we headed to my second surprise. Miniature golf! I had so much fun! Paul's a big fat cheater though LOL We ended up having a blast. After 18 holes we went into the arcade section and Paul played a punching bag game and then picked out some prizes for the kids. He even hit up the batting cages. It was an awesome surprise to go miniature golfing. I haven't done that in years. We ended up picking up the kids around 9:00 who didn't want to leave at all. AS soon as we got home the kids went to sleep. They were exhausted. It was an amazing Valentines Day and Paul really made it awesome for all of us.
