Note to Self

So here's something new I thought I would try. I always have these moments with the kids where I know I should do something but I'll try putting it off just an extra minute or two to finish up something else. It usually bites me in the booty big time. Here's a prime example where I have noted to myself never ever to tell Kailee just a minute and finish unloading the washer.
The kids got nosey and found a whole box of Christmas Nerds. You know the little tiny ball shaped candies. They are one of Paul's favorites and so of course now the kids want them whenever they can have them because they have to be like daddy. So I gave in and said the kids could each have a few and counted them out and made them sit at the table. I proceed to the laundry room and take a load out of the dryer and Kailee tells me they are done. I said cool. And she says I need help I then say hang on be there in a minute. She said no biggie I got it. I had no clue what she was talking about but decided to go ahead and put the next load in the dryer. Next thing you know...I hear the clash of something falling followed by a bunch of little things hitting the floor. Yup this is what I walked in the kitchen to see.

Now mind you this happened to be a day that Paul got home later than usual so he also got to walk in on this mess. The look on his face was quite priceless. Thankfully he's the best because he helped clean it and I'm sure our vacuum was over worked considering it had to vacuum the whole pantry and play room carpet. I got the lovely job of sweeping the kitchen floor and boy do those things spread on tile.

So note to self. Whenever your daughter says she needs help putting something away in the pantry. Stop whatever you are doing and if not help at least supervise so you don't end up with a mess like above.

ETA: the pictures above do not give the mentioned mess justice.

Sonora Desert Musem = 2 thumbs up

This morning Kailee and I went to the Sonora Desert museum with Miss Amy and Seirra. That place is amazing and a must see if you are ever in Tucson. Talk about so much to see and absolutely beautiful. There were so many trails to walk on and little critters to see of the trails. Oh and of course birds. There was a snake exhibit where they had all the native snakes for you to see. A lady even gave an educational demonstration on King snakes. And, Kailee got to pet it and learn all about them. She loves snakes so the snake exhibit was a huge success. After the snakes we went into the cave area where you walked through a mini cave and got to see bats and all sorts of fossils. Kailee even got to see what bat ears would look like if they bats were the size of humans. Pretty neat stuff. Then we moved on to the space exhibit. That room had the planets all around with comments and stuff on the ceiling. It was so cool. It broke down by years what AZ used to looked like. We were in there for quite a while. Then there was a room with all sorts of crystal and rocks. The girls loved that room. Then there was the dinosaur portion where they got to dig up fossils and learn about dinosaurs. That was also a huge hit. After that we got to see two mountain lion, two coyotes, some prairie dogs, a deer, a wild turkey, and tons of birds. The girls got to get up close and personal with an owl, and screech owl, and even a hawk. There were workers who walked around with different animals for you to see up close.
We took some trails and saw all sorts of plants, flowers, and cacti. That was pretty neat. You're out in the middle of no where yet surrounded by all sorts of neat stuff. All the exhibits that were outside made you feel like you were seeing everything like it would be out in the wild. Not like the zoo. You could see the animals a such in their habitats.
About half way through we stopped and let the girls get some ice cream and have some water. There was quite a bit of walking so they definitely needed a rest. The girls each got frozen yogurt and life water and we all just rested and took in the scenery around us. It was the perfect weather too. Not to hot not too cold or windy. Just a beautiful AZ day.
After ice cream we went to the butterfly exhibit. Of course it's not quite time for butterfly to be out so we maybe saw one or two but the area you could tell was really pretty when in season. We did however get to see a ton of humming birds. Now that was neat. Well minus the fact you had to duck quite a bit. For such small birds they sure do fly right at your head with a good amount of speed LOL.
The girls were pretty much exhausted after the humming birds so we took them into the gift shop to just walk at a slower pace. Kailee decided she just had to have a few somethings for her aunt and grandparents. Then I rushed her through all the jewelry because this girl and jewelry equals her staying forever LOL.
I had so much fun and I know Kailee did too. We are both pretty worn out from all the walking but it was good exercise.
