Early Valentines Day Fun!

This morning the kids andI woke up super early. We had some fresh blueberry pancakes and then got dressed. Upon double checking the time I realized I was supposed to bring a snack to share. CRAP! It's like ten til we are supposed to leave and I have nothing yummy I can make in that time. So I go to my back up stash of fruit. So I emptied all my mandarin oranges and peaches in a large container. Hey it was healthy and quick. LOL
Once we took off I had a pretty good idea of the location so I just knew we would make it there with nothing going wrong. I was so wrong. Of course I get in another housing development where the roads run all different directions and the are two of the same roads. Google maps gave me the wrong directions again. By this time it's 10 and I'm super irritated. I mean it never fails. I always seem to get lost even with directions. Of course I don't have the lady who was hosting number. After all I've only met her a few times. So I try getting it off the web site from my phone. No luck. Tried texting a few other moms who were supposed to come with no luck. CRAP again. I 'm literally on the street it says I am supposed to be on with no house number matching the address I need. FINALLY she calls me after the organizer told her I was lost and needing her number. Yay! We make it and guess what. Despite being lost we were still the first to arive. She looked at my directions and was like what the heck. Google maps always give the wrong directions and said I was literally on the other side of her street across the sub division. Nice... I guess everyone tend to get lost when trying to find her house. Of course her house was beautiful. A big two story with tons of space. At first I was a little worried because I didn't see a toy in site. With two kids I found that hard to believe. I soon found out all the toys are stored in a closet. Pretty neat idea. That clean living room soon turned into a disaster area. I thought a tornado went through. After all the kids got there toys were pulling out like crazy! I was like oh man. And then you have my two. Kailee's playing with two puzzles and puts them back before grabbing another and Justin's by himself sprawled out on the floor playing with hot wheels. My two know from experience not to take a ton out because they are responsible for putting everything they touch back and they have to help clean the mess before they leave. Needless to say they have learned the hard way. All the kids continued playing until the last two people showed up. The organizer is always late. And not by a little. We are talking by at least 30 to a hour late to everything. It can be so annoying. Especially when your kid has a set nap time and the play date doesn't even start until ten. ANY WHO enough of my complaining. I got the kids all lined all and ready to start the craft and cookie decorating. Someone had to get this thing started. So I took the kids in fours and sat them in the kitchen. They each got a heart shaped sugar cookie, a butter knife, icing, and various Valentines Day sprinkles. What a mess. Kailee did great she's like an expert at icing cookies after helping me so much. Justin did well too. He's not big on icing so he only spread a little. However, both of my kids love sprinkles. I think Kailee actually had more sprinkles than cookie. I was laughing so hard because she had put every kind of sprinkle on her cookie. Justin chose the little mini sprinkle beads. Some of the other kids...wow. I mean no manners what so ever. Mine know better about licking knifes or silverware during the process. I was literally so grossed out. Some of the kids were licking the knifes and the sprinkle containers. I put a stop to it but was never so lucky my two were the first to decorate. LOL I know I sound harsh and like a germ a phoebe. And, well I am. I took the kid's ages into account but still. I mean Justin's two and a boy at that and even he knows better. I dunno...At least I wasn't the only one grossed out. The lady, Ruthie who hosted was pretty upset and kept helping me re wash the knifes. You can only tell kids no so many times before you're just like man you do not listen. The ones who were repeat offenders quickly found themselves back with their moms or back into the living room to play. A bunch of the kids from play group are already sick so I knew I didn't want to take the chances of mine getting sick so they washed their hands afterwards and then applied sanitizer.
So I noticed I seemed to be the only mom assisting the kids or even in the same room with the kids. I was like hmmm. Guess I need to learn how to socialize with the adults. So I made my way into the kitchen to see what they were up to. Yeah no not my thing. What was supposed to be a Valentine's Day craft for the kids turned out to be one for the moms. I was a little irritated again, because I am not into crafts like all of them so there again I had nothing in common with them. So, I made my way to where I felt more comfortable. Behind the camera and surrounded by kids. LOL A cop out I know. But, still.
Eventually, I did make my way over to that kitchen table. I looked at the supplies. Looked at the example. Gave a sigh, kicked my feet. And, decided what they heck. I'll give it a try. After all, I didn't want my kids to be the only ones without one. So I gathered my materials and called Kailee and Justin over. If it was meant for the kids then the kids are going to at least contribute. I cut out the heart and the half pattern. Then punched all the tiny holes and even laced them. What a exhausting craft. My neck and back were killing me from all the lacing. Yes they turned out crooked. No I'm not an expert name writer with glitter pens. Yes my children stuck the stickers where ever they wanted, but you know what? I wouldn't change them. I LOVE how the kids helped outon their craft project. :) After the tedious task of crafting again the kids went back to playing and eating cookies. I looked up at the clock and I swore my eyes were playing tricks on me. Surely that clock was not reading one o'clock. CRAP crap crap! Way past Justin's nap time. So I made the kids start picking up toys. I started to clean up the craft area and help pick up the kitchen and a little bit of the toys. And we said our thank yous and good byes. Luckily the kids were still excited about getting out and talked the whole way home instead of napping. We get home and I put JP down. I was glad he didn't fight me. Unfortunately, I had just enough time to start on the laundry, before he comes walking in saying he went potty by himself. He's always so proud of himself and still likes to announce it. Followed by "I pee pee on the potty not you floor". "You not mad at me you proud cause I a big boy". Awww the sweet sound of broken sentence structure and incomplete words. Nothing can be any sweeter. LOL So he was up there was no putting him back down. I decided to make us some dinner and let them play a bit more. Dinner was our usual when Paul works and what the kids always want. LOL Mac and cheese. Then they played some more before bath time. They took the longest bath. Neither one wanted to get out. But after a super long bath came pjs and bed time. After they went down I attempted to study but found myself with a horrible headache and slightly irritated with something I came across on facebook. So I ended up laying in bed and who knows when I fell asleep.
