Back to normal

So after having Paul's Dad and Step mom here for four whole days they left this afternoon. The kids had so much fun having them here and warmed up to them fairly quickly. They got in late Thursday and we had dinner and just kinda chit chatted before everyone went to bed. We woke up the next morning and pretty much sat around and hung out at the house since Paul had to work. We did take him some dinner to the station where Paul's dad got a tour of the station and an actual ride in the fire truck. Saturday we all woke up and hung out around the house while Paul got his car ready for the track. Paul and his dad spent the majority of the day and night at the track while Mariellen and the kids and I hung out at the house. Sunday they had planned to leave, but they were awesome enough to stay all day Sunday. So, we went to breakfast and then took them on base to the BX and had plans to see the other fire station but with their truck still acting up we had to make a stop by Auto Zone. That night we headed to Texas Roadhouse which felt oddly different walking into considering we usual walk in at the Texas location. I must admit everything was the same except you knew you were in Az. The food was amazing like always. After dinner we all went home and just chilled. It looked like they were having alternator problems according to Auto Zone so instead of leaving first thing Monday morning they had to go by the Ford dealership. Everything worked out and it was their battery so they left about noon today. It was a great visit and we really enjoyed having them. I sure wish we could see them more often but am so grateful for the time we had with them.
