So the doctor at the walk in clinic gave Justin some antibiotic ear drops to help with the very infected ear and the slightly infected wax filled left ear. Let me just say they are evil. Perhaps it's my lack of experience with ear drops. I've never had to give either of my children them in the past. Or maybe it's the fact that I'm administering them to a very sick two and a half year old little boy who thinks laying down means automatic bed time. And being still is not his forte. I dunno, but they are evil. He screams every time I have to put them in. A little dramatic I think, but what do I know. I mean after all they are going into his ear and not mine. He says "ouuuuuch it hurts me!" In the loudest scream/squeal ever. And not just once mind you. Oh no I get the pleasure of doing this four time a day. That's right it reads four times a day. So I say to you Mr. Walk in clinic doctor; You SUCK! And furthermore, whoever invented cotton balls, sucks too. He absolutely hates the feel of them in his ear. Throwing them like mini baseballs he loves. Having them shoved in his ear to stop drops from coming out not so much.
As if that wasn't enough fun, Kailee's sick too. She went from running around playing, to looking like a glossy eyed, snot nosed druggie. Not that I have much experience with druggies, but her eyes were so bloodshot and glossy they almost looked like a film was covering her eyes. Did I mention the snot? I mean at this point it's pouring from both of their noses like Niagara falls. This is when being a mom is the best. You have two sick kiddos who have absolutely no energy, don't feel well, and only want you. Actually they want you 24/7 and attached to them. Don't even think of getting up to pee. Oh no you cannot leave their sides for even a second. LOL Then the fever started with Kailee. And this child can't just get a low grade that gradually goes up. Oh no, not her. She was just laying there and I had been periodically checking her for fever all day and all of a sudden I reached down and my hand was burnt. I get the thermometer and her temp was 102. Really... I'm thinking. Here we go with her. Thankfully she has a very predictable pattern. With her allergy flare ups she gets glossy eyes, although not as bad a described above, a slight cough, sneezes, and a very high temp. Then temp reaches 102 and higher as high as 104.5 for one day. Then the fever disappears while the allergy symptoms persist. I start her on Motrin, give JP his second dose of antibiotic for the day and at some point be time arrives. Even I went to bed when they did. Two sick kiddos is exhausting, but it's all part of the job, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Well I would trade them feeling like crap, but not having them or going through it with them.
