Just Another day w/ an added Birthday Party

What started off as a typical Saturday for us, meaning the kids and I clean house the early part of the morning then just spend time goofing off, playing, and learning ended with a birthday party for the kid's friend Angel. Yes the kids still have the snotty runny noses but other than that are free and clear of any symptoms. And, they seemed to feel better as well with the exception of being super tired.
So we made some dip, wrapped a few gifts for Angel, and headed to her house for her party. Kailee was really excited since she hasn't seen Angel since we went camping with them months ago. We get there have some pizza, play for a really long time and then it was time for Angel to open her gifts. She got a ton of stuff and most of it Kailee made sure to tell me she wanted for her 5th birthday. Girls are so funny. Anything pink, Barbie, or Disney Princess Kailee wanted. Of course she got a ton of scholastic books and those are Kailee's favorite books, so she was really envious of her books. LOL After opening her gifts it was cake time. The kids got to lick candles and enjoy the cake. They also got to choose between three different types of ice cream. I was in heaven. Cake and ice cream. Bring it on! I chose pumpkin ice cream and it was super yummy. I have been wanting to try it since Thanksgiving when I saw it. The kids both chose mint chip one of their dad's favorites. After cake the kids and I went with Angel to her room and they played for about another hour before both of their noses really started to pore and I decided it was time to go. Angel tried everything she could think of to get them to stay. She really didn't want them to leave. It was a good time and I'm glad I decided to let them go despite the fact neither had a nap. They were both on excellent behavior and even helped Angel clean her room afterward.
Both are in bed and I am trying to get my headache to go away as well as these stubborn chest pains. Not sure if they are stress related or what but man they are so uncomfortable.
That's it for today. I'm headed back to the comfort of my bed and Trauma Life in the ER.
