Conversation with a 4 year old

K: Mommy are you married?
Me: Yes Kailee.
K: To daddy?
Me: Yes.
K: Where did I come from?
Me: From God
K: So that's how I got into your belly?
Me: Yes
K: Well how did I get out?
Me: When you were in there for 8 months God said you were ready and they took you out.
K: How did they get me out?
Me: They cut you out (Thank goodness for c-sections)
K: Who cut me?
Me: No one "cut" you. They cut my tummy to get you out.
K: Who?
Me: The doctors.
K: With what?
Me: Surgical instruments.
K: What's that?
Me: Kailee really?
K: Yes. I want to know.
Me: Like a scalpel.
K: A scalpel?
Me: Yes a really sharp blade.
K: Well that explains the scar on your tummy.
Me: Yup it does.
K: Hey mommy.
Me: Yes Kailee
Kailee: Um how did Justin fit in there?
Me: The same way you did.
Kailee: No. He had to be higher than me.
Me:What?
Kailee: He was in there higher than me because he was bigger.
Me: Um ok.
Kailee: Trust me he was higher and bigger.

By this point my brain is exhausted and she is literally still going explaining to me her version of how Justin came and was. And I would try correcting her and she would cut me off and tell me I was wrong. Why I'm surprised I don't know. This is the same child that will legitimately argue with me that he is her son and not mine. Oh and boys are not gross they are now cute. Well only Justin. She doesn't know any other boys but Justin sure is cute.

Crying Over Spilled Milk

Oh son of mine. Where do you get your mischievous streak from? And, why is it that when it strikes it's full force? I can handle the cars in my bed when I go to lay down late at night because they were "sleeping". I can handle stepping on rocks that your big yellow dump truck didn't dump all over the patio. I can even deal with your boom boom pow punches out of no where and your boo scared yous. But, spilling, no let me rephrase pouring a cup on milk into the humidifier because it was empty of water? Really? This is what I found in his room when I went to lay him down. First of all he's not allowed to have food or drinks in his room so that explains why the cup itself was hidden under his fire truck bed. I go to grab the humidifier to add more water to it and notice the towel under it is wet. Sometimes that happens, but for it to happen when the humidifier is empty struck me as odd. Even more odd was the white liquid that I found under the humidifier. I then look to Kailee who somehow always knows everything about everything and all I do is stare at her. She instantly cracks and tells on Justin explaining Justin poured it in. So I look to my son who has now covered his face with both hands and calmly say Justin. He said empty. I ask what was empty. He removes one hand and points down at the humidifier. I say yes I know it's empty. No joke he uncovers his face and says not any more. I hide my laugh. He didn't even bother unscrewing it to fill it with the milk. Oh no because that would have made too much sense. Instead he takes the top portion off and dumped the milk into the filter area. You get an A for effort my son. I'll give you that. With a boy you have to laugh. If not you'll go insane. Their mind set is totally different than that of a girls. Had it been in Kailee's room and it was empty she would have A either come and got me or B taken it off and filled it back up after looking it over and figuring it out. So, my son I just want you to know I love you and that mischievous streak of yours. I do not however love replacing filters in humidifiers and dumping milk out of the bottom of them. Thinking I'm getting all comfortable only to jerk up when my back hits your car lot of cars you left on my side of the bed in the middle of the night. Or my aching feet when I step outside in the dark to let Abbey out to almost fall over that yellow dump truck of yours only to regain my balance and then have pain in my feet from rocks. The mini heart attacks from you appearing out of no where and yelling boom boom pow and a karate punch to my leg. Oh who am I kidding? I love it all. :) Night guys.

P.S. Yes Kailee got upset and started crying because she was worried that if she got sick milk would filter through the air and she wouldn't get clean air to breath. How she understands or knows the filtering system of a humidifier I don't know.

Santa

I went to Walgreens today and picked up our free 4x6 prints of the kids with Santa. They turned out soooo cute! Love them. Both kids are smiling and look adorable. Here judge for yourself. :)
