Rashes, Run Arounds, Catapillers, Oh My!

Kailee went to bad last night with a flared up rash. I mean it looked the worse it has yet. Her poor cheeks are red and peeling, red bumps on the small of her back and down her legs that are dime sized, and an underlying rash of tiny bumps all over, with patches in some areas. It's even in the corner of her eyes now. I am about at my whits end with this rash business. Four diagnosis later and we still are no closer to knowing what this mess is than when we started. So I set out to make another call to the base to get her back in with her Pediatrician. No luck and they want me to go back to Urgent Care. I could have thrown my phone across the room in frustration. I was pissed! The rash unfortunately being near her eyes was enough for me to suck my frustrations up and take her once again to Urgent Care. So I load her up and head over. Luckily the wait wasn't horrible. The care on the other hand another story. She got a male doctor and after being seen there time previously my poor daughter is done being probed and looked at. She was so un happy. She did not appreciate a male doctor picking her dress up and looking at her body and bottom. Just not her thing. Can't say I blame her. He was creepy. Talked very low and monotone and ordered her around like she was a dog. Sit, stand, be still, turn. I mean very odd and no compassion or bed side manner. His DX was no DX. He explained the rash was too rapidly changing for him to give a diagnosis. Are you kidding me? I mean how hard is it to look at her skin and give me a real diagnosis and not a guess. To date it's been eczema, scabies, and two other normal rashes that just occur. WTH? For the record she never had scabies. The pediatrician who once did see her said in now way could it havebeen scabies nor did it appear to be the form of scabies. Either way here we are back at square one with the Urgent Care doctor not helping either. So he decides she needs to see a dermatologist. How nice of you to put her off on someone else and gave us a DX of nada. Literally he put unable to DX on the paper work. So I call the base to get the referral authorized and they tell me a nurse has to call me back once they get the report to determine raher they will give me permission to go. Okay Urgent Care did one good thing. They got her an appt on the 27th with a very well know derm. Anyone whose ever had to go to a dermatologist knows it takes forever to get in with. It took me 7 months just for my initial consult with one and now my daughter has one in two weeks and they can't guarantee she can go. I was furious. So Kailee wanted to go shopping with her birthday money from her grandma and who was I to say no after her having to sit around a Urgent Care clinic for 2 hours. Before that I begged her to allow me to go on base. I had had enough with this crappy care for the kids. My PCM was let go months ago so if I need to be seen for anything I too have to go to an Urgent Care clinic. One who has no chart on me nor do they know my issues. Great care I tell you. So we get to the clinic after even though I had been told through Triwest and them in the past that we couldn't have downtown PCMs I got them to agree. It took some arguing but I did it. And the best part is both kids and I now are assigned downtown. We will be seen by the same doctor ever visit and I even got them to approve her dermatologist visit. It was a very productive day. Now back to the fun. Kailee and I went to Koh'ls and she spent the rest of her birthday money. I tried my darnedest to keep her away from dresses and skirts but I'll be darned if she didn't gravitate towards them. I managed to talk her out of dresses and head her in the direction of play clothes. Actually I said lets look at more practical clothes to which she told me these are practical and are the best of both worlds. She found skorts. Little skirts with built in shorts. Oh this child. So she got a few of those and some shirts to match and then put in for me to send pics to her Aunt Blue so she could make her some bows or headbands to match her new outfits. Quite the little fashonista she has become. So after some shopping we headed to Jearise's to pick up our caterpillars. Each kids has one and we are going to watch her they change into butterfly's and then release them once they are done. Both kids are super exited. We ended up having pizza with Justin and Paul at this place called mommas up the road. It' our new favorite place to hang out. Our veggie dis liker even eats salad from there thanks to his sister. Both kids got stuffed zebras from a little boy who won them from one of those machine games and who gave them to he kids. So sweet of them and the kids were so happy. Then it was home for baths and bedtime.

Um....HI :)

Whew it has been some time since I last posted. We have been dealing with quite a bit since moving. I'm having computer issues and currently can only get on when Paul leaves his laptop. No fun since he doesn't have any photo editing software. We've been unpacking the house, cleaning the house that's a whole other post, dealing with this unexplained rash Kailee still has, fighting the base to have them dis enrolled, adjusting to being off our schedules, planning Kailee's birthday party with her friends, and just plain being exhausted. Oh and we also managed to fit Easter in... It has been craziness to say the lease. Once I figure out what to do with my computer I'll beback with tons of updates and what we've been up to lately.
