This morning the kids and I got up at 7 and started getting ready for when Paul got off from work. We had to make sure we were ready as soon as he got home so we had time to meet up to get breakfast before the cruise up Mt Lemon. Paul's car club was doing their car cruise up to the cookie cabin and we were thrilled to go. :) So we made it out the door on time and headed to Mc D's to get some breakfast. We chilled in the parking lot a while to let everyone get there. Kailee saw her friend Angel and perked right up. Angel was pretty excited as well. JP was just focused on all the loud race cars. Lol After breakfast the cruise began. Heading up to the mountains is absolutely beautiful right now. Something you wouldn't expect with it getting hotter and cactus, dessert views everywhere. There were all sorts of wild flowers mixed in with the cactus and it was so refreshing. We made it to a looking point and I took the kids up a little hike to where they could see the road below and the view straight out. Kids climbed up like nothing, but when it came time to come down they acted all scared and wanted only daddy to take them down. We make it down and get back in to continue the cruise. We finally get to the cookie cabin and there was a closed sign. I was super bummed because Paul and I had tried taking the kids two other times when we went and it was closed as well. Good thing the car guys can read because it was only closed for another ten minutes. LOL Paul got the kids and I the yummiest hot coco I have ever seen or had. You can't go wrong with warm chocolate, sprinkles and whipped cream LOL Then he brought out the gigantic cookies. YUMMY Chocolate chip and peanut butter. Two of my favs. Oddly enough neither kids was to concerned with the cookies. They loved the hot coco though. They ran anround and played before it was time to head back down. Kailee even got in a snow ball fight with Paul. Here she came around the corner with the hugest piece of snow and went right after her dad. Brave one she is. We stayed behing and let Kailee and Angel play a little while JP was super tired and was trying to nap. The girls played a while and JP magically regained all of his energy. So him and I stayed in the car and played a little while Paul and his friend chit chatted. Once it was time to leave the kids were out in no time. The drive back down was cool. I go to use my new lense and it was just such a beautiful day. Once we got home we checked the mail and what do you know? The kids had some. It made their entire day. They are obsessed with getting mail I tell you. Thanks Aunt Blue. They loved everything. :)
After that I started planning more details of Kailee's upcoming birthday party. We are giving her a princess party after all and there's lots to do still. She deserves it though. And btw she already picked out next years theme. UGH that girl. Something tells me it'll change though. Then I let the kids color some eggs. Yes Easter was last Sunday, but with moving and unpacking we didn't get to have much of an Easter. I mean they got their baskets and had a small egg hunt the day of, but we never got around to dying the eggs. Hey better late than never seems to be our moto lately. They had a blast! Of course neither were too in to decorating them. They preferred to dye and the re dye them LOL. Dinner was next and then bed time. We were all pretty pooped. Seems to be a running theme around here. 8 comes around and we are all in bed.
Here are the rest of the pictures from Mt Lemon as well as the kids dying eggs.
