Tribute to Red Bird 1

As if neck pain weren't enough, tonight proved to be quite emotional for me. I know it won't make sense to most, but I actually shed tears. Tonight as I stood out in the cold, later sitting in the neighbor's drive way, we said good bye to a family member. We loaded her up, watched her get tied down, and said our good byes. Red Bird 1 will forever be in our hearts and memories. And, while she didn't make the best first impression and we didn't always get along, I have grown to love and respect her. My daughter and son grew up with her and were basically introduced to everything car related and racing through her. It's how they associated when daddy was home. It's where Kailee and daddy would spend the day together on cruises. Trips to the track to see her perform, where Kailee learned to help put in a roll cage and wash a car, where Justin learned to shine rims, and how to jack up a car. Heck it's where the kids learned what a garage was for.

There she is loaded on the trailer :(
