Dinner With Daddy

Tonight despite my neck pain and not being able to manually open the garage door, the kids and I went to the station to have some dinner with Paul. I stopped and got the kids chicken nugget kids meals and me a small side salad since I really wasn't hungry. So we get there and I get the kids situated and Paul heats up his food and sits down and the loudest alarm goes off that I have ever heard. Now mind you he's sitting there in downtime gear with his fork in his hand. I have never seen someone jump up and run out of a room so fast in all my life. I am literally scrambling trying to load everything back into the bags while calming the kids down so we could take off when he shouts just stay! So I explain to the kids who are covering their ears and acting nervous what is going on and they run to look out the window with just enough time to see the truck speeding away and going on to the flight line. So the kids at this point are now in a state of panic and worry. They don't understand what the loud noise is, where their daddy went, if he will be ok, will he come back, or will he get hurt. This is new territory for me. We've never really seen him in action from start to finish before. Yes we've been at the park to see him standing in a parking lot with the truck and all his co workers when Burger King had an issue or when they were called to TLF, but never have we seen him jump up, run out the room, and drive away. So they were quite beside them self. So I get them calmed down and back at the table. They were no in curious mode and kept looking out the window trying to see their daddy or the truck. So cute. And the guys did the best thing ever for the kids. I guess they could see the kids looking at when they were coming off the flight line and so they honked the horn. That just made their day. As soon as he got in we resumed eating out dinner. The kids spent some more time with him before it was time to say bye. For one JP was starving. For some unknown reason they forgot to put the chicken nuggets in his meal so all he had was apples. They closed at 8 so I knew I needed to go by BK before heading home. Once we got home the kids played and then it was bath time and off to bed.
