We woke up at 9 to get ready to head to the mountains. A bunch of the guys from the station were going so Paula sked if the kids and I would want to go. I was like sure sounds like fun. We usually have a great time. This time however was just one of those times where it didn't go too well. The snow was melting in the lower portion which created a ton of little water falls throughout the drive. It was beautiful! Once we got to the location we were going to tube at we realized the snow was quite hard. Made very difficult for a two and four year old to walk. They were slipping every where. Still didn't stop Kailee. She immediately started playing in the snow, throwing snow balls, and just having a blast. Justin didn't seem fond of the idea from the moment we took him out of the truck. He was made because he only had one of his gloves and he was not feeling my ghetto sock solution to keeping his hands warm. So we walk to where we were going to tube which I think wore Justin out. Slipping and sliding and almost busting it the whole way bless his heart. Again Kailee is right in front playing the entire time only slipping a few times. Well once the tubing started meltdowns arose. Both kids did go down with Paul and they loved it but after that it was like okay we've had our fun. Time to go. I mean out of no where both were putting in how cold they were, how they just wanted to go home. Nothing I did helped calm them down either. Poor Paul I know it ruined his time. I felt so bad that we had to leave. He went a few more times alone while I attempted to calm the freezing, tired, whiny, crying kids down. Nothing worked. I busted it twice really bad. Once going down to the bottom and it was bad. I slipped and somehow ended up falling hard on my tummy slamming my camera into the snow with me on top. Not good. That'll explain the lack of pictures. The second time I just straight lost my footing and slammed hard on my booty. Made my back feel awesome let me tell you. The snow just was not our friend this time. I offered to go up to the truck with the kids to let them warm up while Paul enjoyed tubing but he decided it was best just to go. We were in the car maybe 5 minutes before JP was out. Kailee napped a little too. Poor things were just wore out. I still enjoyed going up to mountains. I think it's absolutely beautiful up there.
