Just a normal Monday

After completing my final I could not sleep. I took a hot shower, a sleeping pill, turned the tv off, got comfortable... and nothing. It was like I was on a rush or something. I mean my brain just would not shut off. Needless to say I probably fell asleep around 4am. The kids woke me up about 9 and were ready to start the day. I've had one cup of coffee and still can't seem to wrap my brain around being productive, although I have managed to do one load of laundry and feed the kids breakfast. It's a start. Right?
So I think today will just be a relaxed day in. I need to take my Christmas tree down. I always hate this part. Our tree fits perfectly on the wall and just makes the living room feel so homey. Once the tree comes down it'll be back to a plane wall and empty space. It's true even though I'm not ashamed to admit a lot of it is an excuse. I LOVE putting the tree up but taking it down just isn't my thing. I also need to back in to Kailee's room and organize. I've given Kailee the chore of putting her own laundry away and to my not surprise it's all still sitting on her chair and desk. LOL Guess there are other things at four that take priority. JP's room is a disaster too. There were 3 boxes of winter clothes that were for donation that him and Kailee decided to play superman to the rescue and they climbed all over them and emptied them out to make hiding places. I just need to organize in general.
I'm also making new family rules and starting new discipline system for the kids. They are getting old enough to have their own chores and consequences for not listening/behaving appropriately. It's all about molding them into well behaved mature respectable kids and getting them ready for school. And, I am also changing their schedules in order to prep Kailee for school this upcoming Aug. So it'll be quite an adjustment the next couple of days, but I know the kids will adjust and do very well with the changes.

So the rest of the day went very well. JP napped and Kailee rested. Then I made some dinner which we didn't even eat. LOL Paul want to go to Buffalo Wild Wings. I was all for it since kids eat free on Mondays. It was super yummy.
