Mommy and Me Christmas Party

So once again I am up and going at 8am. This morning is our playgroups Christmas party. I am pretty excited because Santa will be there, the kids are going to get to make tons of crafts, have story time, eat some yummy food, and play with some friends. I have everything ready to go thanks to baking a yummy cake at 2am. All that's left is adding the cool whip on top and sprinkles. Nothing like the smell of cool whip and sprinkles at 8 am. Got my cup of coffee and breakfast as I type and the kids have about 10 more minutes of sleep.

Well the party started off kinda slow. Apparently not everyone was ready so the room wasn't set up and even though we got there at 10 no one was there. They attempted to put on a movie for the kids who were there but all the kids wanted to do was try sneaking some of the food LOL. Once everyone got there, the kids got to make their first craft. I was actually pretty impressed because I had never thought of this. Guess that's why this mom's group is so cool bc we have two art majors and most of the ladys are super crafty and creative. Basically it was the crayola color wonder paper. The black paper that when scratched or colored on it has bright colors appear. Kailee did a heart and JP a star. My tree is just going to be filled with awesome ornaments from the kids. Then the next craft was Christmas trees that they could color or put stickers on. The kids loved it! JP grabbed an orange crayon and went to town. Kailee of course used pink glitter crayons and markers to make hers. Justin then decided to use his tree as an air plane. LOL He was throwing it up in the air and making it fly. Next it was time for some yummy food. Thank goodness the majority of it was finger foods because they forgot the napkins and silverware LOL. The kids ate their food and then the restlessness started for some of the other kids. Kailee and JP were content on just sitting there and observing. Jearise the group leader had all the kids gather around and read some Christmas stories all building up to the big moment. There was a knock on the window and guess who it was? Santa! Kailee's face lit it and JP's too! All the kids took turns telling Santa what they wanted and got their picture taken by none other than me. How lucky was I? LOL Jp went and he told Santa he wanted a choo choo train and cars. He sat there looking at him and did so good. He got a goody bag and told Santa thank you and hopped off. Kailee did so well too. She let every other kid go before her, because as she put it she was waiting her turn LOL. She told Santa she wanted a princess doll to play with and that her brother needed some more cars LOL Then she got her goody bag and said thank you. After Santa left the kids played while us mom's started the clean up. I say kids but my two weren't included. They were moving chairs back and helping em clean. They are so awesome. They had so much fun moving chairs.
Once we made it home it was nap time. We all took a two hour nap. It was super nice. When we woke up we played and had some dinner. Then before we knew it it was time for bed. It was a great day.
