Kailee-isms

Oh my little girl Kailee. The stuff you say and come up with just forever keeps me on my toes and fills my heart with laughter. You are so funny and way grown beyond your years. So Kailee was in the bathroom sitting on the floor going through one of my make up bags while I was getting ready to go out with Paul for our date night. This was an older make up bag that I keep mostly odds and ends in. I was finally finished getting ready and after she had already been applying make up told her ok time to go.

Kailee: I'm not ready to go I'm still trying to get pretty.
Me: Kailee you are pretty and besides make up doesn't make you pretty being a good person makes you pretty.
Kailee: Well mom I am being good.
Me: No I know you're being good I'm talking about being a good person.
A blank stare follows and I explain being a good person as in generous, caring, compassionate, friendly, and loyal.
Kailee: Oh mom it's just not in my world to be a good person. It's just in my world to be pretty. I only want to be more pretty than I already am.

Oh boy. I've created a monster. At least that's what Paul told me. LOL I couldn't help it. I busted out laughing at her and just said come on. I was actually at a loss for words. I mean at least I know what her priorities are... Why being pretty of course.

So as we are leaving out the door to take the kids to Ms Carole's Kailee asks Paul how she looks. Of course he told her beautiful. And in passing he tells me we are going to be in trouble when she gets bigger. I said Nah I'll just tell her boys are nasty. Kailee pipes back with a "Boys are not nasty mommy. Boys are fun." Paul and I again just exchange glances in disbelief. I again say no boys are gross. Remember that. "Mom boys are not gross they are fun." This time with a little more emphasis. For the second time I'm at a loss. What does she mean boys are fun? And remind me again why I had to have a girl? She then says "My brother Justin's a boy and he's tons of fun." Well as long as theonly boy she finds fun is her brother we should be ok. LOL. I know the following are all said in a four year old innocence, but I mean really. Where does this stuff come from.

Here's a few more examples of Kailee.

Me: Kailee are you excited for playgroup today.
Kailee: No.
Me: Why not?
Kailee: Cause I'm not.
Me: You're going to meet new kids and make new friends.
Kailee: Mommy what color will the kids be?
Me: What?
Kailee: Um what color are the kids at play group going to be?
Me: Does it matter?
Kailee: Well are they going to be all white like me?
Me: No not all of them. Why? Do they have to be?
Kailee: Well no. I'm just wondering?
Me: Why?
Kailee: Because I'm white. So I'm wondering if they are going to be white like me.
Me: Well some might be and some might be brown or black. Do you have a problem with that?
Kailee: DUH no mommy. I was just wondering.
Ok what in the world makes a four year old question the color of potential friends? Where does she come up with this stuff.

Then the other day she was moving her hands all around as if she was throwing up gang signs not that she has a clue what that is. I look at her funny and she says what? I'm talking with my hands. I said you mean signing. She then says no talking with my hands. I'm not signing that I want anything I'm having a conversation with my hands. Okay child whatever you say.

I tell you this little girl is funny. Pure funniness. For such a literal serious little girl she can throw out some whoppers.
I LOVE YOU K-BUG! I LOVE every little funny phrase and comment and word that comes out of your mouth.
