Dentist Time!

Today both of the kids had their annual dental appointments. Kailee for a cleaning and fluoride treatment and JP basically to have his teeth counted and to do a cavity check. I swear this is Kailee's favorite place to be. The doctor's traumatized her with hour 4yr shots so she hates the doctor even the mention of the doctor. Can't say I blame her either. It was a pretty bad experience.
Anyways we get there right on time after running late because Kailee had to have a bright pink bow in her hair and her bright pink ADIDAS tennis shoes bc she just had to match. Her words not mine. So we walk in and sign in and both kids take off to the little table at the front and start coloring. They had race car pages so Justin was lovin' it. Kailee colored but was more focused on the tv because she couldn't figure out what it was.
We get called back and both kids got weighed. Kailee weighs 34 pounds and Justin weighs 29.6 pounds. I was quite surprised Kailee weighed more because Justin is deffinitely heavier when you pick him up. Miss Kailee then gets x-rays which she does remarkably well. They always comment about how well she does since they have a hard time with most kids in getting clear x-rays. After the x-rays we go back to the room and Kailee hope on the table. She then gets her teeth cleaned with pink bubble gum toothpaste. It happens to be her favorite. Kailee even got to wear some pretty cool shades to block her eyes from the bright light She also got a pink napkin they use to wipe the spit on. She was so excited to have everything pink. So they clean her teeth and then the dentist comes in. The dentist checked all of her teeth and mentioned how good hey looked. She said she has beautiful well kept teeth and no cavities. She also said she had great spacing on the bottom which is perfect for when her adult teeth come in. The dentist also said she might not have to have braces because of how beautiful and good her teeth looked. I could not have been happier.
Next it's Justin's turn. I'm not able to get pictures of his exams because under the age of three they require you to hold the child during the exam. Basically he faces me with his legs on either side of me and then he leans backward onto the dentist's lap. She said he teeth looked really good and nice and clean and she could tell his teeth were very well taken care of. He has 20 teeth and no cavities. Yay!
After the exam the kids got to go get some surprises. Both picked balloons. Kailee got a purple one and Justin a blue one. Kailee also got an Ariel tattoo, while Justin got some weird super hero sticker and a Blue Clues tattoo. The surprises weren't the best and they apologized saying they were in the process of replenishing them. LOL Of course neither kids cared. They just loved picking something.
I am so proud of the kids and how well they did and behaved. Even JP liked the dentist. I'm just so glad and grateful they love the dentist and are not scared. Both kids are dental free until June when Justin will have his first set of x-rays and an official cleaning.
After the dentist I took them to Wal MArt since it's right across the street to pick out another surprise for their good behavior. JP picked a mystery hot wheel and Kailee did too. Those have become a big hit with the kids. I also had to get some cough syrup and throat spray for the kids. I'm still trying to kick the kid's symptoms on my own. So far it's been a great day.
